Labor Day is almost upon us, and if you follow fashion etiquette you know that it’s time to rid your closet of everything white and start shopping for the new season.
Why? No one is certain about how the fashion faux pas initially materialized (no pun intended), but theories about why it’s not cool to wear white after LD include class distinction and, well…temperature. White reflects light and it’s almost the season to get warm and cozy. Luckily the sartorialists have spoken – gray is the new color for fall.
Ready to spend your three-day weekend switching up your wardrobe and start shopping in a gray area?
Trendy online boutique Yoox has just added new fall arrivals to their site – and there’s no shortage of gray. Check out these fall fashion favorites as you trudge into the new season.

Grey Goose drink for gray color trend—clever. I think I may have to mix this up tonight.
My question for everyone is this: does this fashion faux pas apply to every article of clothing and accessory? For example, can I wear white shirt underneath a gray cardigan?
