Wanna be a chick magnet?

There’s nothing wrong with
a cat lady…

Okay, so you can get creative this Halloween by purchasing one of those fun punny costumes out there like “Chick Magnet” or my personal favorite “Crazy Cat Lady” or…you can try and win that costume party this year with a smashing homemade Halloween ensemble. Get ready for oohs and aahs with some of these fantastic homemade Halloween costume ideas:

Everybody loves a dirty castaway:

Take an old worn-out pair of khaki pants and tear off the legs to create ragged looking shorts. Wear a dirty old stained t-shirt, make a beard or five o-clock shadow with brown makeup (or just stop bathing for a week), then carry a volleyball with red handprint and face.

Nothing’s sweeter than a bag of jellybeans!

Take a few clear drycleaning bags and punch a large hole on each side next to where the hanger goes for two leg holes. Blow up about 20 balloons of various colors and put them inside the bag. Step inside and attach suspenders or tie around your neck with a colorful ribbon. For fun you can even give your child a bag of jellybeans to pass out to children while trick-or-treating. Just don’t let them get near anything sharp…

Who said cardboard boxes weren’t glamorous?

Become a beautiful butterfly with this idea from About.com – all you need is a black sweatsuit, an antennae headband, cardboard, paint, and black elastic.

Or give the present of your presence by becoming a wrapped gift. All you need is a cardboard box, wrapping paper, ribbon for a bow, and tights. And voilà – you’re a walking birthday/Christmas present!

Got several kids?

Do a group costume like Peter Rabbit, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail for the babies. Use cute little jumpsuits and make rabbit ears. I also LOVE these recommendations for homemade Pokemon costumes.

And nothing beats a gruesome, ghastly Halloween feast. I’ve looked around and found THE GROSSEST (yet eerily tantalizing) menu on this blog:

Black punch

Chilled human
heart (gross!) from
Imakeprojects.com

Some lady’s fingers

Black Punch
Lady Fingers
Black Bat Wings
Eye-popping soup
Eyeball Cupcakes

Eyeball Martinis
A meathead
Chilled bloody heart

Got some ghastly Halloween pictures? Please share them, as well as any of your costume ideas after all, we’ve got some practical jokes we’d like to play!
