Throwing An Election Party? You’ve gotta have these…

With the election only two weeks away, I thought it prudent to begin researching how to throw an election party. Not necessarily because I’m going to throw one, but I’m going to try and convince other people I know with larger houses to. I’m not a total mooch though; I plan on doing my part. So I started looking around to see what’s out there to bring to an election party, and I came up with some really interesting products and ideas.

First of all, you’ve got to have the perfect election party cocktail. It’s either got to be: a red drink for the Republicans and a blue drink for the Dems, or it’s got to be a red, white, and blue drink that you can serve to everyone. For some great campaign cocktail ideas, I really like Intoxicologist’s election day cocktail recommendations.

The other thing is making sure that you’re decked out in the appropriate election attire. I LOVE the Obama tie above (and it’s on sale!) and this McCain t-shirt is great too.

But the most interesting election party must-have I’ve seen so far are Ms. Beasley’s election cupcakes and cookies — so scrumptious (kind of).

Love these ideas, but thought I’d thrown another one out there too…there’s a creative new gift idea called vivabox, which gives new reason to celebrate surviving two years of political ads, debates and all of the accompanying political pundits! Just like this election, the vivabox is a gift built around choice. But with vivabox, your choice always wins!

Here’s how it works: the recipient opens his or her vivabox for an immediate ‘taste’ of an experience, then selects a second gift by redeeming the enclosed gift card for a gift experience of their choosing.

And the choosing isn’t all for the recipient. Like candidates, there are several vivaboxes for gift givers to choose from, including a Tea Time box, a Gourmet to Your Door box, and two Spa vivaboxes.

So, while elections can be draining and the ads tough to endure, rewarding yourself for surviving can be easy when you give the gift of choice!
