Here’s your guide to what shoe styles and trends are hot for summer ‘09:

Caged Sandals

The great thing about a caged sandal is that you’re wearing something more fashionable than a sandal while still maintaining a sandal’s airy, light feeling. And they make you taller. Celebs like Fergie, Beyoncé, Leighton Meester, Becki Newton and more have rocked the caged sandal look – and now it’s your turn!

Great for: Work, indoor and outdoor casual and slightly formal occasions

Taking its inspiration from embellished clothing, popular shoes for Summer 2009 are definitely big on detailing. We’re talking about wedges with shiny metallic studs, colorful beads, and bedazzled looks. Not only do these details jazz up an ordinary sandal, but they make them appropriate for more formal occasions.

Great for: Impressing on a first date, impressing them at work, impressing just about anywhere!

Brands like Earth, Crocs, Soda, J-41, and many more offer comfortable and stylish vegan shoe alternatives.

Great for: Feeling good about yourself, showing off how trendy you are, an urban day hike, bike riding, those days when you want an earthy look
