I have to admit that my hair is the source of a lot of stress. It’s dry, unruly and has so much volume sometimes, that I feel like it’s going to explode. I’ve tried everything to control it; Japanese straightening (too flat), going long (too much hair), going short (not enough hair) and every product that counteracts frizz and volume that I can get my hands on (too many to test what really works). So even though I’m down on winter, I’m embracing it because of the effects it has on my hair. The drier temps keep my frizzies at bay and my tamed style has made for a lot of happy hair days. It’s a relief to not have to layer on three different frizz fighting serums, which is par for the course in warmer weather.
The caveat is that my locks are feeling super dry. The indoor heat and constant blowdrying has zapped my hair of its lustrous, conditioned look, making it mighty straw-like. Good thing I’ve come across Warren-Tricomi’s Green Walnut Hair Masque. It’s like a rescue squad ready to revive dry, damaged-looking hair like mine. The secret is that it has nano-technology, which allows microscopic particles of green walnut, a rich moisturizer, and protein to penetrate the hair shaft quicker and easier than other masques. I’ve been using it once-a-week for the last month, and my hair feels more nourished and looks healthy and shiny. Plus, it smoothes away frizz. Now, if only I could move to the desert this spring and keep this look going. Warren Tricomi Green Walnut Hair Masque, $38.
