Take me away, please!

A pina colada for your lips.

It’s always about this time of year that I’m itching to get away to a Caribbean island. Maybe it’s the fact that J.Crew is touting all the new short styles. Maybe it’s because there are so many ads on tv begging me to come swim with the dolphins. Or maybe I’m just sick of being cold. Sadly, it seems the closest I’ll get to turquoise blue water is the overly-chlorinated pool at the local YMCA. Despite my no-beach-vacation outlook, I’m in need of some serious island time. Fortunately, there are a few beauty products that can take me there. Michael Kors Island series–which I love–recently debuted a Bermuda scent. Not only is Bermuda one of my favorite islands (I adore the pink sand beaches and candy-colored cottages), but his gorgeous pink packaging is a reminder of that sand, and makes me feel as if I spent the night at a swank hotel and came back with the complimentary toiletries. The scent–with its heady mix of tropical notes like hibiscus and passion flower softened by cedar wood–is equally alluring.  I’m loving the body lotion after a warm shower right now. And instead of a boring lip balm, I slick on Lavanila Healthy Lip Shine in Vanilla Coconut. It reminds of a cool, pina colada and warm breezes. The super healthy formula, with over 30 vitamins, anti-oxidants and minerals, makes my lips look so shiny and lush that my pasty complexion fades into the background.
