I just came across Nahui Ollin handbags and cannot get enough! If you’re not familiar with the brand, they are eco-friendly handbags made out of candy wrappers. The designer of these glorious bags, Olga Abadi, was inspired by an ancient Mayan technique of binding everyday materials together, and so the Nahui Ollin bags were born!
Their materials include soda wrapper labels, gum wrappers, and candy wrappers, and all are factory rejects. Meaning that hundreds of thousands of wrappers that are about to litter the landfills and create more waste turn into a fashionable accessory. Genius! Every bag uses somewhere around 4,000 wrappers and takes about 4 days to make.
Intrigued? Check out how sweet these candy-wrappers bags are!
