Just because women are the ones who buy exfoliators and moisturizers doesn’t mean that we’re the only ones who get dry or flakey. Its’ just that most of these products smell (and look) girly, and lots of men wouldn’t be caught dead with a bottle of Caring Comfort Gentle Rain Bodywash in their shower. Men’s products, on the other hand, have been mostly about pouring some acrid-smelling cologne into a bottle of laundry detergent: very, er… fragrant, but not exactly good for skin.
So I was psyched to see that Dove just launched a new men’s care collection, Dove Men+Care. The product line is straightforward: a combined face and body wash (available in three scents), a combined face and body bar (available in two scents) and an industrial-looking body scrubber with a mesh sponge on one side and more aggressive loofah on the other (which looks manly enough to make any guy feel like he’s doing heavy construction in the shower, rather than buffing his legs). Guys don’t need to juggle separate bottles for face and body in the shower, and while they look and feel manly, they’re super moisturizing and nourishing, too. And you can’t beat the price point (less than $7 for bodywash; less than $4 for a 2-pack of soap).
