JVC’s KABOOM is the perfect beach buddy. This is the new and improved KABOOM boombox, which means it’s got upgraded full-range drivers and woofers to crank up more than a little sand — about 40 watts’ worth, anyway. In case you are out of FM range, the unit packs its own iPod dock, with a “twist and lock” protective sealing door.

If you have a different MP3 player, it still rocks with this box. Just connect your player to the unit’s USB port. If you don’t want your portable to get too sandy, you can copy music onto a USB memory stick. Of course, there’s also a CD player (remember those?), which features a special tube design to help eliminate vibration for a smooth playback.

The unit even comes with its own wireless remote, so you won’t have to won’t have to turn over before you’re perfectly tanned on one side.
