This heat is killing me. Whenever I see a pool, I immediately have to go for it. I will hop fences, if necessary. Of course, this means I spend very little time cleaning out my pockets. Occasionally, I may sacrifice a few bucks, but at least my video camera is safe — the Kodak Playsport.
This camera isn’t just waterproof. We’re not talking sprinklers or a few playful splashes. Instead, it can be completely submerged into water, up to 10 feet under.
Of course, taking video underwater leaves a lot of room for error. The device probably can’t make you a better swimmer, but it can correct some of that shaky effect, via the electronic image stabilization. Other features include full 1080p HD video (the good stuff!), as well as 5-megapixel still images.
Available in black, blue or purple, this $150 camera is pretty affordable, especially considering some of its other perks. Those include smart face-tracking technology, a 2-inch color LCD, and built-in editing software. Then when your day is done and your cornea is burning from chlorine, you can choose how you want to share content: through the computer or a big screen; Kodak has included both USB and HDMI cables for easy viewing either way.
